Session 30: All that effort and we still ended up here

General Summary

DATE: 17/07/241-18/07/241

• Party returned from Vixeres
• Grimmie and Ariadna returned to the Fifth Pillar
• Lohren returned the crown to Narron and the remaining party, aside from Jarran, returns to the Fifth Pillar
• Narron is within Mahan and the party are taken to him via Gideon, though the travel back from Mahan consumes most of the rest of the day
• Lohren & Yoshi have a chat, Yoshi takes on a new identity; a human female going by 'Red'
• Bubba gets a room in the Fifth Pillar; a pond with a large lily pad in it
• Lohren gathers five holy symbols, one from; Aion, Ylros, Kurvidar, Nythrion & Telsin. Spends the remainder of the day talking to his sword and names it "Tempest's Edge"
• Red goes about the town to get seen in public to build their new identity, and gets tailed by a Crild, a tall Orc warrior called Melkir
• Red confronts Melkir who apologizes for following her and explains that he works security for the Xurek family, and he is supposed to keep an eye out for potential threats
• After a short chat Melkir leaves and is followed by Red using invisibility, Red sees him talk to a member of the Order of the Whispervine and then returns home
• Next day the party begins to investigate the Xurek family Mine, using Narron's various scouting abilities to investigate the mine, learning that there is a set of cold iron doors that has some magic preventing certain scrying
• Red steals some hair from a guard that goes into the cold iron door room, which turns out to be Melkir
• By scrying on Melkir Narron is able to see into the room, where Melkir argues with another Orc (Crag Orc) in patchwork clothes about something they are excavating, stating that the current people excavating will no-longer work on it due to Melkir's own reservations
• After Melkir leaves the mine and Narron's scrying finishes he uses another spell to investigate the minerals of the mine, where he learn of a particular alloy he has not seen since the times before Mahan; an alloy not of this world
• He disseminates this information and explains that the vessel within the mine is the progenitor of everything that caused the time reset
• Red goes to get Melkir, getting him on side for the party's plan
• Lohren communes with Ylros about the Vessel, receiving a dangerous direct communication from her that boils his blood and damages his mind, with only the words "DESTROY IT" coming through
• All those near Lohren were thrown back by a sudden force, leaving the party a little wounded
• As they gather themselves to leave in order to begin preparations, an Avatar of Kurvidar arrives and explains that most of the Primal and Aspect gods are not in favour of destroying the vessel, as they understand that, perhaps this time things will go differently, given that the world has had more time to adapt and evolve without alien interference
• Kurvidar wants the party to extract the vessel but get it to a group or individual that they believe would be careful in how they study the ship and disseminate its technology. Ranorn and the Gravekeepers were immediately disregarded, the Charter is exactly the kind of people to not give it to, so the party decided to get the vessel to Aion, as it would be well defended within the Ashlands, the few Ifriti who would study it would be chosen by Aion and he could keep checking with the other gods to ensure that the spread is slow enough
• Session ended with the planning of how to kill the Patchwork Orc, as he never leaves the excavation site, and is known to be a part of a Crild cult
