Marhaven

One of the youngest kingdoms in the region, Marhaven was established around 1220 PF by Calum Calibos, father of Doren and grandfather of Valeria. Marhaven was never an intentional kingdom, and came together as more or less an accident. The largest of a dozen or so villages dotting the eponymous island in the Beytan peninsula, the village, Marhaven has a habit of attracting the survivors of shipwrecks in the nearby Silent Sea. Calum, one such survivor, rose to hold a leadership role in the area and convinced the other local villages that they would hold more economic and political negotiating power if they were to band together into a unified kingdom. The villages agreed, and named him ruler.
Calum's granddaughter, Valeria, came to power as queen of Marhaven when her father was killed by the rogue elf Chayde. Valeria would commit her forces to the Tresendar Four in taking down Baron von Walhart, ruler of Aetheria, and his privateer Navy, in exchange for assistance taking out her father's killer. This plan proved successful. Following the Battle of Aetheria and the Ionian Ascension, Valeria would marry Rargel Vrovral and continue to rule Marhaven, bringing in the Cragmaw refugees as new citizens. Though her husband would be killed several years later in an explosion caused by his experiments, Valeria proved to be a solid ruler, eventually uniting the rest of the small island kingdoms around the Beytans into the United Beytan Kingdoms , with the capitol in Marhaven and ruled by Valeria as the first queen.
