Arctos

Arctos was the northern-most of the Western Gems. A true ocean port, laying outside of the protection of Sentinel Bay, Arctos exists mainly for its mines. Early explorers of the area found its hills laden with ocanium, gold and saltpeter, a key ingredient in the newly created blackpowder.

Back in Basque, they say that only the brave, stupid, or desperate choose to leave everything behind and make the journey out to the Gemstone Colonies. This is even more true for those select few souls who dare venture North towards Arctos. A settlement on the edge of the Great Northern Stasis, Arctos started as a port, built to ship Ocanium ore out of the great mine at Ocanar. It the very first walled city in the modern colonies, a necessity to defend against the great beasts that roam the lands of the North.
