What was THAT?

The Bow Shock of the Tides flowing against the local pressure of a star is always a hazardous area to traverse, and not only due to the high dynamic forces exerted on Tidal Sails. Something lurks in the densest fields of dark matter plasma, glimpsed only as faint whispers and false echoes on a starship's sensor equipment. Even the most capable of Signalscopes seem to slip right off of the nebulous contacts.

Ghost in the Tides

Very few starships have had close encounters with a Wraithe and have survived to tell the tale. They are anomalous beings that are believed to lack any physical form, instead being spontaneous constructs of the same dark matter plasma that makes up the Ion Tides.
