The Sourcewell is the very foundation of existence—the primordial wellspring from which the Multiverse draws its energy, power, and purpose. All Evergates, including Cocytus itself, are believed to originate from these headwaters of pure positive energy. Beyond the boundaries of time and space, the Sourcewell is a vast nexus of raw potential, a swirling sea of primordial forces that continually reshape the Multiverse. Its boundless energy fuels the cycles of creation, existence, and destruction that sustain all planes.
Physical Description
No mortal has ever set foot in the Sourcewell. Even if one managed to do so, the sheer concentration of positive energy would render exploration impossible. A visitor would immediately be blinded by the radiance of the plane. Their body would fill with life, healing any cuts, wounds, scars, or other anathemas to life until their body was so full of positive energy that they would simply explode out, their body and possessions becoming part of the plane.
The Heart of Creation
Though none have confirmed its existence, theories state that at the Sourcewell’s core lies the Heart of Creation, a shifting center of power that pulses with the rhythm of the Multiverse, generating waves of energy that flow through the Evergates. The Heart is said to be the source of all life and divine power, constantly renewing the essence of reality itself.Government & Law
No one truly understands the nature of the Sourcewell. Some speculate that a hidden intelligence governs it, directing the aeons that issue from its depths and shaping the course of the Multiverse according to an unseen design. Others believe the plane itself is alive, an unfathomable consciousness that dreams reality into being. Whatever the truth, the Sourcewell moves according to laws that remain permanently beyond mortal or divine comprehension. Its rhythms are not bound by reason, and its true purpose may never be known.
Inhabitants
Though mortals and even immortals cannot access the Sourcewell, the aeons, mysterious caretakers of reality, emerge from within it. Their true purpose remains unknown, though many suspect they serve the Heart of Creation itself, a force stronger than any deity or power in existence.
