Kofitir has gone through dramatic change in recent years. It went from a relatively quiet, small coastal city to the busy, constantly developing headquarters of the Lavendine Navy. Kofitir naval yards evolved from the city's original main industry, and one it was quite renowned for. Kofitir vessels have always been renowned for their integrity, quality and incredible craftsmanship. During the period of Kofarsi isolationism, their vessels were widely sought after, and the maritime culture of eastern Lavendina made their ships treasured family heirlooms of wealthy dynasties, or the imposing flagships of imperial catal-barges. Their prolific shipbuilding tradition was dramatically expanded when it was chosen as the headquarters of the Lavendine Navy, due to its shielded, tranquil bay waters, defensibility, and central location. Today, Kofitir naval yards has been expanded into a incredible array of row after row of dockyards, slips, drydocks, and sea boasks. Its systematic rows of cranes are only surpassed in quantity by those of neighbouring Covitar.
