Commonwealth of Kannosta

Kannosta is a vast, motley jigsaw puzzle of various princely states, kingdoms, principalities, city states, and despotates. Its lands were once the sites of the first settlers on Kepler 77c, and it boasts some of the oldest ruins and historical sites of anywhere on the planet, with a rich heritage.
While almost as culturally diverse as Lavenna, Kannosta doesn't foster and cherish its diversity like Lavenna does. Instead, being such a decentralised assemblage of different fiefdoms, each one of them acts as a rather homogeneous ethnostate. Whereas Lavenna encourages inter-republic multiculturalism and whose republics are themselves immensely multicultural melting pots, Kannosta takes the "many fishbowl" approach of having essentially self-contained universes in each of its fiefdoms.
Despite its challenges in organizing its wildly incongruent ideologies and highly decentralized approach, it remains one of the main military powers, boasting a combined fielded manpower of tens of millions, second only to Remora.
