Gyrus, Spirit of Cycles

Gyrus is a Superior Spirit. She that maintains the balance between Spirit Realm.

Appearance

When aggravated, Gyrus manifests herself as a ferocious undead behemoth. She may also manifest herself as a specter of death wielding a sickle, scythe, or war scythe.
  When placid takes the form of an elderly female dressed in a white see-through robe. She has hair that is long straight silky silver hair.

Personality

Gyrus is compassionate and understanding. She adores farmers and those who seek to better themselves in the world of the living. Those who do not pay respect to Her or farmers may find themselves invoking her wrath. She communicates with the Mortal Realm oftentimes through blackbirds but may appear in person.

History

Before the time of written records, it is said Gyrus came down from an eclipse. It was during this time that she taught the tribes of the world how to farm and how to respect the spirits. This started the Festival of The Veil.
  In the year [tbd] the Theocratic Empire of Acton broke all of her commandments invoking her wrath. They caused all the livestock, crops, and children to die for 1 year until they offered up Emperor Magnus Albinus as a sacrifice to them.
  In the year [tbd] the necromancer Armondo(ar-mon-doe) murdered several innocent people with necromancy and disturbed several graveyards with the use of necromancy. He found himself face to face with a ferocious undead behemoth and he was killed by Sable Haru.

Traditions & Practices

There are ten commandments priests of Gyrus must adhere to or invoke the wrath of the spirit of the dead.
1. Help farmers when you can
2. Never kill an innocent
3. Seek out knowledge to better oneself
4. Teach others what you have learned
5. Cleanse yourself by rinsing in the water facing the sun at sunrise and sunset
6. Fast during the Eclipse
7. Never use necromancy to harm a living body
8. Before and after talking with a spirit you must rinse yourself in water
9. Respect farmers
10. Never disturb a graveyard without the permission of the Sexton

The Cleansing Ritual

You must rinse your whole body in clean water before and after talking with a spirit. Those who wish for the blessings of Gyrus must do this at sunrise and sunset. This is to cleanse the impurities of the world off of your selves for the day.

Offerings

Common offerings are seeds to farmers or money to sextons, farmers, and those who upkeep graveyards. When angry she may require a sacrifice of flesh sometimes, this can be as simple as an animal or a specific sacrifice of a person.

Shines & Priests

The priests of Gyrus, revere the spirits and help those who have had loved ones pass away grieve. There are often shrines dedicated to them at gravesites. Priests dress in sees-through robes. Priest often serves as educators and scholars.
