HISTORY

The Deadland Mages College has a long and storied history, dating back to its founding in the year 4591. The college was founded by a group of powerful and skilled mages who sought to establish an institution dedicated to the study and preservation of magical knowledge. The college was built within the ruins of the city of Alton, which had been destroyed in a cataclysmic event known as The Great Explosion.   During its early years, the college struggled to establish itself as a reputable institution, but it eventually gained recognition and respect among the city's inhabitants and other organizations. Over time, the college grew in size and influence, attracting more and more students and researchers who were drawn to its reputation for excellence in magical studies.   As the college's reputation grew, it began to take on more responsibilities and roles within the city. The college became the primary institution for the preservation and protection of magical knowledge and relics, and it began to provide protection to necromancers who did not commit crimes. The college also started to teach aspiring Mechamancers, Technomancers, and Necromancers, and it played a key role in the development of the city's magical culture and heritage.   One of the most important aspects of the college's culture is the tradition of mage duels. These duels are organized and overseen by the college, and they are used to determine the skill and power of the members. The guild master is appointed by the council and serves as the ultimate authority of the institution, but the guild master can only be appointed if they have defeated all the challengers in the mage duel. This ensures that the guild master is the strongest and most skilled member of the college.
