Cortex

The Cortex is the information super-highway for the 'Verse. While connections are slower outside of the Core Planets, the Cortex still provides the communication hub that serves every planet and space station. There are several relay stations located in deep space to help move the data, and a lot of information is cached locally to increase access speed, but it also means it can be out of date.
