MCA97 Armored Boots

The MCA97 armored boots are standard issue combat boots for USC Marines, worn as a part of the Marine BDU (Battle Dress Uniform). The boot is protective, lightweight, nearly liquid-proof, and is generally comfortable.

Description

The MCA97 boots are specialized combat boots that are designed to provide maximum protection to the wearer's legs in high-risk situations. These boots feature a standard lace-up design, but are covered in various types of armor plating to enhance their durability and strength. One of the major features of the MCA97 boots is the metallic armor plating that covers the upper part of the shin from all sides. This armor plating is fixed to the boot and weighs about 3.5 lbs. (1.59 kg), providing a considerable amount of protection to the wearer's legs in combat. In addition, the boot itself is covered in lighter armor plating to further enhance its resilience.
The later version of the MCA97 boots features a slightly altered design that enhances their effectiveness in combat scenarios. The metallic armor plating that covers the upper shin is now separate from the boot and does not cover the back of the leg. This modification provides greater flexibility and allows for ease of movement, while still providing protection to the wearer's shins. Furthermore, straps can now be attached to the MCA97 boots, which allows for additional coverings to be worn for increased protection. These armored coverings can be quickly and easily mounted to the boots using the straps, providing extra layers of protection to the wearer's legs.
