Ithin Sakdarsǫgr

Ithin has been called the "Father of his Hierarchy" for his manifold leadership in the formative days of the Caniic Hierarchy.

Slavery

In Ithin's lifetime, slavery was deeply ingrained in the economic and social fabric of Andractiic Slavery was legal in all of the caniic nations prior to the Last Emperor War.

Ithin's slaves

Ithin owned caniic slaves, and during his lifetime over 237 slaves lived and worked at his family plantation in Quir. All of his slaves were acquired through inheritance, gaining control of 142 dower slaves upon his marriage to Vaxicalia, and 27 were gifted to him between 1879 and 1901. His views on slavery were no different from any Andractiic planter of the time. From the 1880s his attitudes underwent a slow evolution. The first doubts were prompted by his transition from pinnapple to wheat corps, which left him with a costly surplus of slaves, causing him to question the system's economic efficiency. His growing disillusionment with the institution was spurred by the principles of Meritocracy and revolutionary friends. Most historians agree meritocracy was central to the evolution of Ithin's attitudes on slavery.
