Effect

Poitens have a very wide area of effects that could happen, It might make you three times as strong, or it might dispel all hunger for a certain amount of time. There are many uses for potions and they are used often, probably more then say fizzy drinks are used today. Excpt most potions are actually healthy for you as they use Arcane water (See Arcane Elements)

You Potions source of power would be the spells mixed into it, whatever spells you put in a potion would be what effects the potion gives you. Though part of the source would also be the Arcane Energy inside you which is wat activates the Aracane spells.

Material Components

To make potions all you need is Arcane water and one-four spells at the ready, to make you spell you imply mix the potion for about ten-fifteen minutes while slowing adding the spell(s). The Water does Not change colour so ussualy Potioniers follow the owrldy color code and ad in some edible dye.
