Sulatar Drow

The Sulatar ("Firebinders" in Giant) are a tribe or series of tribes of drow that retain some knowledge taught to them by the Giants. Clinging to the arcane lore taught to the Dark Elves by the Giants forty millennium ago, the Sulatar have continued the ancient tradition of binding elementals.

History

Sulatar believe that the giants bound fire to their blood, and taught them the way of fire to find the path to the Land of the Promise. Though they think the giants have now fallen prey to madness, the Sulatar have stayed loyal to the teachings of their giant masters for 40,000 years, in the belief that doing so means that one day they will be rewarded with immortality and an army that will allow them to sweep the world in an apocalypse of flame.

Description

A more magically advanced tribe of isolationist drow who tattoo patterns of flame on their skin, the Sulatar seem to be masters of elemental binding and may have even been the source of Zilargo's knowledge. Sulatar champions wield weapons and other items that are enhanced with fire. Sometimes the items are infused with the power of flame through elemental binding, or other forms of fire magic. Their weapons and armor often feature art of fire and flame. The Sulatar maintain the techniques of binding fire to metal and glass, which allows them to form unique magic items including firesleds (flying sleds made of wood and firebrass with a ring of fire wrapped around them), fiery tunics, and gloves of flame.

Appearance

The Sulatar are drow with dark gray ash skin who dress in bronze or firebrass armor with flame patterns and wield powerful fire magic. They burn similar patterns of fire into their flesh. Champions of the Sulatar wear burning armor and wield blades with elementals bound inside of them.
