Manor is built
Construction beginning/end
Original Appearance of the Manor:
Upon completion, the manor would have stood as a grand, imposing structure that combined both fortress-like and spiritual qualities. Given its early medieval construction, the manor likely featured the following characteristics:
- Stone walls, thick and sturdy, constructed with local stone to defend against potential invaders or wild animals. These walls would have been several feet thick.
- A central keep, possibly a large multi-story building made of stone and wood, designed to house the ruling family and any important guests.
- A great hall with high ceilings, wooden beams, and stone flooring where feasts and ceremonies were held.
- Guard towers or a watchtower, to offer protection and oversee the surrounding lands.
- Small, enclosed courtyards where the family and their retainers could engage in daily life or conduct smaller, more private events.
- Religious and ritual areas, likely a small chapel or shrine dedicated to whatever deities the inhabitants worshipped, built into the manor or attached as an extension of it.
The roof would have been a thatched or shingled design, made of materials sourced locally. The manor likely had several wooden doors, reinforced with iron bands, and large, arched windows that allowed for light to stream into the stone interior.
