This Coalition was formed after Vulanti forces captured Ondlayesa, the sacred city of the Ondlayesians, and renamed the city Ambracia. The combined forces of the Ondlayesian tribes and Zandajin attempted to retake the city. They were thwarted, not by the empire, but by the people of Ambracia who had invited the empire in. The new city of Ambracia and the historical tribes of the area now also battle a philosophical and cultural war for their shared homeland. This led to the nearby city states allying to make sure the empire didn’t continue to push into their land. However they readily agreed to a cease fire, called the Treaty of Ambracia, as the empire wasn’t really in the wrong and they all needed time to prepare.
The current cease fire with the empire is very uneasy, but so far neither side has been caught breaking the rules. As part of the cease fire the coalition is allowed to send humanitarian and trade airships to Taesi Kaalsari, but these transports are heavily scrutinized by imperial transports. The imperials will also search all the vessels on their return voyage to make sure none of it is militarized. If any coalition ships are caught with troops or equipment this would be a serious blow to the treaty and likely result in a return to war.
