A large portion of English people, women in particular, are on commercially available medication. Fathers and husbands often get drugs prescribed for their wives and daughters, in order to make them calmer and more submissive. Many women also struggle with depression and anxiety and ask their doctors to prescribe them medication of their own accord. Additionally, sleeping pills and dieting pills are common. However, women are forbidden from taking most medications while pregnant.
