Summer Camp 2019 in In the Shadow of Princes | World Anvil

Summer Camp 2019

Let this summer be the winter of our writer's block!

Why participate?

I love prompt marathons! They represent some of the most fun community experiences you can have with World Anvil so participation is a no-brainer for me. Not only do you get to share your work with and take inspiration from other creators but by the end of it you've always got a few great articles that you probably never would have even thought to write without creative prompts to spur you on. Onward Summer Camp 2019!
Writing Objectives
I want to focus on topics related to four regions in my campaign world.
Tabazan - Oppressive slave state bordering the Southern Kingdoms
Terragar - Isolationist mountain kingdom
Pimaca - Religious heart of the Zoner solar cults
Azoturia - Ancient city of mystics and oracles

What do? And how?

Since I run an ongoing game set in my world, my world-building time is usually spent creating articles that pertain to the locations and events that my players are currently interacting with. During Summer Camp I don't plan to change that but I do hope to dig into the context of things and include more culture and lore to the setting. I want to spend less time writing about kings and kingdoms and more talking about beliefs and customs.
Last session I was thinking, "Hey, what kinds of card games do people in this country play?"
That's the kind of writing I want to be doing during Summer Camp!

Goals

I have a simple plan: I'll set aside one hour every day to just sit down and write an article that provides an authentic response to every daily prompt. I'm not going to mess with formatting or CSS beyond basic layouts. Back during Inktober it was fun to just start with a concept, freewrite, and let things happen. For Summer Camp I'm going to focus on discovering creative ideas and finding the words to express them.
I'll take my writing wherever the prompts set my imagination, but my world has some specific regions that I hope to flesh out during the course of Summer Camp (see above).
