Precursors

Name commonly used to refer to the humans of pre-Cataclysmic civilization. Other familiar terms include “Oldsiders,” “Racefathers,” and “Machinemakers.”
Known for their extraordinary technological advances and fantastic architectural achievements, the Precursors’s world was ultimately destroyed in a disastrous Cataclysm. The meaning of the Precursors’ fate is subject to some debate. Some impugn the destruction of Precursor civilization as a the result of some cosmic error or a divine punishment for sin. For some the Precursors are titanic figures of myth deserving of reverence and respect; for others they can be nothing other than the decadent race of a justly doomed civilization.
