New Interstellar Holy Roman Catholic Church

The New Interstellar Holy Roman Catholic Church, or NIHRCC as it is more commonly known, is the present day incarnation of the Holy Roman Catholic Church of Old Earth.
The Pope is still the head of the Church, and still resides in Vatican City, one of the very few places on Terra that is not subjected to the power of the Stellar Empire.
The alliance between the Imperium Stellaris and the New Interstellar Holy Roman Catholic Church is one of mutual benefit. The Church does not preach or interfere with Imperial doctrines and policies, and the Imperium grants the Church tax-exempt status, free travel privileges, and a host of other benefits.
