The glyphs are used to create cross continental portals to transerve across the land. this is the only time they are used.

These are really important to how the Imperium functions. It's allows us to manage far off territories in just a few minutes of travel from the capitol. It has defined the entire world as a result of such travel.

Access & Availability

They are only built in the capital cities of the Aulus Imperium's providences. As a result, there is only 8 portals in the known world. These portals can only be accessed by Imperium citizens with proper permits, diplomatic envoys, government officials, and military soldiers. Permits are difficult to get for personal travel while business permits are easier to get, but they are costly. This makes them rarely used by the general public.

Discovery

He discovered a small scale version when he was attempt to portal a stone with a spell book. The stone retained the properties, allowing for a portal to be sustained through it would a spell book.
