Sundac religion

The Sundac religion is the oldest of the three religions of "the book" - that is to say the three main monotheistic religions that share a number of prophets. The followers of this religion call themselves the Children of Sundac, after the founder of the Holy City although this name is rejected by the other two religions of the book who claim the Holy City for their own religions and often call them the Sperans (derived from the church language word for the hopefuls, as the children of Sundac believe they are still waiting for their saviour).
The Sundac religion claims that is is the oldest faith and has been around since the beginning of days, although it took time to manifest and before God truly announced his existence to his followers and the religion officially began. Similarly to the Mahrim religion, they state that God himself is hidden from the world but (in contrast to the Mahrim religion) looks out upon the world through the moon and therefore it is when looking at the moon that it is easiest to commune with God, which communication can only truly take place within a person's soul. This perception of God is different to that of Andor religion's perception that God is truly embodied within the sun.
As far as historians can tell, the Sundac religion is practically speaking approximately 1000 years older than the Andor religion, which in turn came before the Mahrim religion, and originated just east of the Mediterranean Sea. The religion is less centralised than the other two religions of the book, with many small communities throughout the world which generally have a shared cultural identity and language, regardless of what other identities the community has (usually related to what nation they are in). This has often caused conflict within the nations the Sundac communities reside in, as they are usually a minority community, which in turn has only increased the separate cultural identity of the Sundac followers.
