Mitor Janz has been working with the Candlekeep for the past few years. He is reliable, and can keep a secret. He is trustworthy and able to recruit a crew without any questions.
Early on in his life he joined up with a gang of pirates, they did not do well. The gang fell apart after a year, with very little to show for it, and Mitor Janz (who always goes by his full name) fell in with a group of sailors from that piratical crew. They spent time sailing from place to place picking up a cargo haul here and there, but didn't really stick around anywhere. Eventually the crew started to fade away, and Mitor Janz came into sole possession of the ship.

A helpful cargo captain, who is trusted by Candlekeep, though is rarely brought into their personal schemes. He keeps his head above water literally and figuratively on his ship about the Eastern seas.
