Order of the Watchful Eye

The Order of the Watchful Eye are a group of demon hunters that operate from their fortress monastery Vega's Fortress in the south of the Kingdom of Karessia. The order used to consist predominantly of wandering warriors that hunted fiends, devils, and the undead, but were also frequently battling aberrations conjured from other planes. They made their fame in E6Y289 when Grostinheart became enthralled by the drug Witch Powder, that was used by the Cult of Khalbris to enslave the city in their attempt to summon the archdevil Thernemor. Through a daring attempt at subterfuge, they allowed a few of their members to become enthralled by the drug in a way to find the lair of the Cult. Once this was discovered, they interrupted the already ongoing summoning ritual. The interruption left the form of Thernemor that had already materialised in a weakened state, which allowed them to battle the archdevil and banish him back to the Crimson Sea, Khalbris' home plane. As a thanks, they were gifted the fortress @Vega's Fortress near the border with the Kingdom of Tessuris where they could organise themselves. Over time, the group fully developed itself into a well-functioning band of demon hunters, but their ties to their origin of wandering warriors still remains: their members travel the world in search of the foul and unholy outerplanar beings roaming the Eastern Realms.
