Ynar's Summer Camp Proclamation

Hello!

''Of course I want to know what the people say, silly! What kind of king would I be if I didn't listen to my subjects? Oh, wait, I know, I would be just like every other king in Ikaharin...''
I'm doing something I never thought I would, and nope, it's not participating in Summer Camp (even though it's the first time I do it). I am talking about acknowledging the existence of readers and the Real World in an article!

How did I get here?

''The story of my life is both long, tragic and interesting, dear friend, I can assure you of that. But I'll try to keep it brief''.
-I.L Yrankau
Even if I have been lurking around WorldAnvil for quite a while in one form or another, December 29th 2019 to be more precise, it wasn't until Summer Camp 2020 that I became truly engaged with the community. And, without getting overly emotional, let's just say that it's probably one of the best things I have done in recent memory.   In any case, now Ynar is here, and he is here to stay, hope you like the sound of that!

Why am I doing it?

''Countless people far wiser than me have spent their whole lives trying to ask questions simpler than that, and failed. So I shan't make any comments on that''.
-I.L Yrankau
Though the badge is indeed shiny, that's not why I'm here. Instead, I'm doing it for three things. First of them is the community, I didn't really do challenges before I started interacting with it (and I still don't do them all :p), because I thought it was kinda... pointless? Secondly, I want to fill my world with detail, and I think 30-ish prompts will help me do that. And thirdly, I want to improve both my writing and speed.

What will I do/don't

''I most solemnly swear to fulfill my promises. By the power that was bestowed to me by all those noblemen who wanted me as a puppet and ended up being kicked out of the World of the Living country''.
-I.L Yrankau
I, Ynar, will do the following to the best of my ability, else I be beaten with sticks:
  • Embrace the stubs: I shall be aware that I cannot write a full-length article in a day (at least not one with my style).
  • Help my fellow worldbuilder: I shall remember to always help the rest of the community in any way I can.
  • Remember why I'm doing this: I shall always keep in mind the reason why I'm doing this thing.
I, Ynar, will avoid doing the following to the best of my ability, else I be beaten with sticks:
  • Burn out: I shall stop work for the day when I feel I am too tired to continue. I shall quit the challenge if I feel overwhelmed.
  • Feel bad for not completing it: I shall not feel bad should I fail to go through the entire challenge. Because that doesn't say anything about my worth as a person and/or a worldbuilder.
  • Measure my success by the number of likes/views: I shall always keep in mind that I am a relatively obscure author in WorldAnvil and that half the people here are busy doing the camp themselves, so I should not feel my stuff is more/less worthy based on how many people have seen it.

What will I be working on?

''There are many regions in Ikaharin, my child, and countless more beyond that! Each one has its own fascinating tales, of course, but we just don't have time to go over them all!''
-I.L Yrankau teaching his daughter geography
As that charming fellow just said, my world is full of stuff, but I just cannot write about everything. It's because of this that I will be spending most of this year's Summer Camp writing about anything but the aristocracy of my cities. Perhaps I may also write about places that aren't even part of Ikaharin Proper...
