Race discrepancies

Core races: Races that can be found in most places and not normally under high scrutiny, certain locational exceptions apply. Adventurers are found here in great supply due to both high population and willingness to travel.
Uncommon races: Races that are likely to turn a head but with little rumors generated. Adventurers amongst this category often have a more pointed reason beyond the wanderlust most adventurers have.
Exotic races: These races are either found rarely, thought to be myth, rather unwilling to leave home without a very solid reason, and/or hated by the general populace. Adventurers from this category are most likely to have been an outcast for any reason, have left home either out of spite or personal quest, or possibly have left at the behest of their people for some great cause.
