August's Letters

[...]Considering how important the written word is, especially in education, I'm hoping that you will be able to assist me in this endeavor. Your help will be greatly appreciated and rewarded.[...]
August from one of his letters.
There are 24 letters written by August, the founder of The House of Adventurers, concerning the creation of the first printing press. There are 11 recipients of the letters in Korda, 10 in Zarinth and 3 in Ikimor.   The 24 recipients of the letters are all rich people in high-status positions in their settlements.   August wrote these letters to people he hoped would help him construct a printing press to make the lives of scribes everywhere easier. Some of the recipients of the letters being scribes weren't so pleased. As a printing press could steal their precious jobs.

Public reaction

Most of the people that he sent his letters to ghosted him until rumors started spreading and the public in mainly Zarinth made their voices heard. The public wanted access to books as handwritten books were only for people who could afford and read them. The public also wanted access to better education and the ability to learn other professions.   When the public learned who the recipients of the letters were, they contacted these people and asked them to reply. August received replies to his letters from all 24 recipients. He even received letters from other people who also wanted access to printing presses after Tradesmen had spread the information across the world about this possible new invention.

Legacy

After 1267RO there are 4 printing presses in Korda. A compact one one is owned privately by The House of Adventurers while the other 3 larger ones are co-owned by The Korda Alliance.   There are 2 large printing presses in Zarinth owned by the Dragon Council.   There is also a compact printing press in the small settlement of Ikimor and the Houses of other settlement are also trying to build printing presses.
-...how did the public learn about your letters?
-Yes...I do wonder how.
-Love...that's...blackmail.
-Yeah, but it's for the greater good. *smirks* I'll have access to more books this way.
-You're worse than Sanzaia, Love.
