Zoi

"A semi-rare species of sentient beings found throughout the world of Idoria. Members of this species are usually found high in the mountains, or deep in caves where they have self-sufficient monasteries. Their skin resembles that of glass, but not nearly as fragile, and their faces rarely have 'normal' facial features, usually having symbols and scratches in their glass-like skin that glows softly when they speak. " -Race Description from The World of Idoria TTRPG

Most Zoi never see outside the monastery's gates, and most outsiders never see inside them either. The only information people have on them comes from their preachers who are seldomly sent out of the monasteries to spread their beliefs to the other races of the world. It is because of this secrecy & their rarity, that their lifespans are unknown; given no one has ever seen a Zoi die, or come across a deceased body of one, some speculate they are effectively immortal.

Incredibly religious and highly dexterous, these beings spend their whole lives trying to ascend to the heavens to become one with their Deity, typically it is discovered to be Mora. It is because of their zealot nature that allows them & anyone they travel with to have an increased connection to their deity, assuming the Zoi & companions share a common deity; although it should be noted that even if the worshiped deities differ, a Zoi's presence has been shown to have at least a measurable increase in likelihood that one will survive an otherwise fatal wound.
