Passive Alchemical Injector System

Have you ever wanted to automate potion-taking to get the maximum duration out of any given potion? Well now you can! The PAIS takes any Injectable potion and slowly injects it into your (or whomstever is wearing it) system! This application process takes a simple push of a button to begin and it will continue until that potion has run out.

Unfortunately due to ethical, logistical, and safety concerns, there's no way to stop it once it starts.

You also can still get potion sickness, but that requires consuming other potions while you're being "drip-fed" or by constantly starting a new injection.

This system swaps out all benefits of an injected potion to maximize the duration. Meaning any size potion you put into it will last 4x longer, but have the weakest effect.


Note: This device is fragile! If the player wearing it crit-fails or takes damage, there's a 1d20 chance (breaking on a '20') this machine will break and need to be repaired. If it breaks it leaks out all of the potions inside of it and ceases functionality.

As mentioned, all potions stored in this device lose their Strength but gain four (4) times the normal duration! This doesn't effect potions that don't have Duration though (Instant Health or Magic Restoration as examples those potions instead retain their Strength, but get their uses increased by four (4) times. Meaning your Injected Bottle of Instant Health will still heal you for 1d20 + 1d4 , but it will have 24 uses instead of 6, and will automatically administer one use whenever your health drops below 100%.

A potion with multiple uses such as an Instant Health potion does not increase your stacks of Potion Sickness for each new use it automatically administers; but beginning a different injection via this device or taking another potion while one is being automatically administered will give you the normal Potion Sickness stacks.

If you gain Potion Sickness during an automatically administered potion, you will keep the current effect, but each new dose/use will inflict the normal Potion Sickness damage, make you purge, & refresh the de-buff. Meaning if you start an Instant Health potion via this device and then gain Potion Sickness afterwards, each *new* administered dose of the Instant Health will cause you to purge, take the damage, & refresh the de-buff.

You can start/stop this device as a Free Action at any time. This stops the current potion effect(s) & won't have it automatically administer another until you resume it. This does not affect the potions that were previously in use, they will continue as if nothing happened once you resume.
