Adventurer's Guilds
Across all civilizations of Idoria, there are people who live for adventure, exploration, mercenary work, and helping others! These people are often called "Adventurers", vaguely.
"Adventurer's Guilds" are established by the governing bodies across the world as a means to encourage and assist these thrill-seekers, as they are often seen as a bizarre mix of a tourist and a tradesman. This means they frequently have, or will have, money to spend locally, do the dirty work that soldiers & government bodies often don't want to do, and offer a wide variety of services that can attract more people to the areas they inhabit. Areas with plenty of adventurers tend to be the safest, on average; so the presence of an Adventurer's Guild is typically seen as a good thing for the everyday citizen.
These guilds also typically have local connections that wandering adventurers can utilize such as: butchers, potion brewers, medical assistance, quest boards, workshops on the local flora/fauna, government contracts, banking, visas, and more!
Although the guilds take a cut of any quests or tasks completed through the guild's services to stay running, this is often seen as a small inconvenience rather than highway robbery by the adventurers they serve.
It is very common for governments to seek out the aid of the guilds to get certain things done instead of hiring directly, as this takes a massive load off of the governments' backs and can usually mean paying less for the same task.
