Your/His Majesty, King Alec of Heronis Alec James Otilia (a.k.a. Peter Lowfield (when on the run))
Alec is the involuntary King of Heronis. He witnessed his father murder his mother and then himself at a young age. He had no other family members eligible to take the throne, so by default, he became the young boy king of Heronis. He is currently fourteen years of age.

Alec is scrawny and wiry, he's never worked a day in his life. He has a slim build and is rather short for a Heronian boy his age.

Personal history
Alec grew up pampered as a prince of a decently running kingdom. He was mostly raised by his nurse/maid Elisabeth, less formally known as Eliza. (He calls her Lizza because he couldn't pronounce her actual name and it kind of stuck). Though raised By Lizza, he had a special bond with his mother, who was gentle and kind to him. He was completely fucked up when she died. He had gotten out of bed to ask her something and came in to find the king standing over her body with a dripping spear. His father then killed himself. Almost an hour later, the guards found the seven-year-old all by himself on the floor of the throne room. He was never the same after that night. Soon after, he was named the King of Heronis, and he relied greatly on his board of advisors in attempt to keep his kingdom running.

Alec, not really having a solid parental figure for most of his life, had the intellectual freedom to question Heronis's religion. He never really agreed with the ideals and didn't understand why everyone in the kingdom followed everything so strictly. He realized he was gay when his advisors decided he should start looking for a queen. They brought in several eligible princesses all his age, and he actually found himself disgusted at the thought that he was expected to have sex with one of them. Another huge factor in him realizing his sexuality was when he first talked to Miles. Miles had been a servant in the castle (apprentice winemaker) all Alec's life, he had always seen him around at events and banquets and such. But only at fourteen years of age did he actually have a conversation with the servant. Alec quickly grew quite fond of him and they actually became best friends (eventually, after some reluctance on Miles's end). After some years together, Alec eventually realized he had fallen in love with him, and they became lovers.
Education
Alec had a childhood tutor that taught him very basic education, like simple math, reading, and history. He had to postpone his studies after he became King. He'll find time here and there to read a bit, but otherwise, is pretty uneducated.
Accomplishments & Achievements
To the kingdom's surprise, Alec was able to strike a HUGE trade deal with the desert colonies of <name> for their abundant water and irrigation supplies. Nobody had expected such an advanced and beneficial economic decision from the boy king.
Failures & Embarrassments
Basically his entire career. Even though he's trying his very best to keep his kingdom running, being a fourteen-year-old boy has its downfalls. He's made some pretty bad decisions over his time as a ruler.
Mental Trauma
Alec has been sort of mentally unstable after the night his parents died. He has PTSD dreams at night and hates discussions of family (one of the reasons he hasn't been a very caring ruler).

Despite his negative social traits and apparent dislike of interaction, he actually hates being alone, and gets super lonely very easily. That's why he took such a fancy to Miles - he actually took the time to just stay and hang out with Alec.

Best friends with Miles(whether he likes it or not), also friends with one of the princesses brought to his court. Has a rather complicated relationship with his advisors, given the fact that they tried to assasinate him on multiple occasions.
Religious Views
Like stated previously, Alec has questioned the ideals of Heronis's religion his whole life. He is the only person he knows who thinks there could be a possibility that everything we worship isn't even real.
Social Aptitude
Impatient and negative when speaking to others, very few enjoy his company - however, when delegating with other kingdoms and nations, he is very clear and to the point, and good at making deals.

Wealth & Financial state
Heronis is a well-off kingdom economically, despite being on the smaller side. Alec, being the king, has almost complete control over all of the wealth in the kingdom, including the power to tax, trade, and spend it.
