Clothing among the Drow is a practical item. It exists as a means to an end, protection from the elements, from dangers or from sight. A Drow is the peak in physical perfection and the burden of clothing hides the natural beauty. Thus Drow wear just enough to remain practical. Garments to protect vital organs, house pockets and other adornments.
Hidden pockets are a staple and essential part of any attire. Being used to carry hidden weapons, spell components, and all manner of items. The pocket is more than just an accesory to the Drow. A pocket symbolises secrecy and protection of one's own wealth. Drow clothiers often find ways to make pockets both almost entirely undetectable while having some be obvious draws of attention for dramatic flair.
Drow that have blemishs, scars, or other physical features that drow society deem inferior or off putting will often hide it with layered exotic clothing, or lavish and expensive yet beautiful attire in order to draw attention elsewhere.
Most clothing in the drow realms such as the Ebony Empire consist of leather from the Rothe, Fungal plant fibres, and spider silk woven by the clerics of Lloth. Darkwood, Gemstones, and Platinum are highly valued by drow nobility as jewelry. Ebony enchanted with the souls of slain creatures is also a common jewelry item typically used in the form of trophy necklaces or carved bracers and staffs.
