Vellynne Harpell

Vellynne Harpell is a wizard of the Arcane Brotherhood, and member of the renowned Harpell family, a clan of eccentric wizards based in the town of Longsaddle. The family has reputation for dabbling in strange experiments and areas of magic perhaps best left unmolested. That said, the family is generally known to be open-minded and kind-hearted, which itself can be considered eccentric in Faerun. 
Vellynne herself largely remains a mystery, as does her specific school of wizardry, since she has only recently been encountered in Icewind Dale. She is known to be seeking her fellow wizard Nass Lantomir of the Arcane Brotherhood, and she has urged the Party to be on the lookout for a magical sphere which she says may assist in lifting the Rime of the Frostmaiden. She has promised a handsome reward for its return and has described it as a smooth sphere of smoky gray quartz about the size of a grapefruit. 
In the Party's encounter with her, they noticed that she appears to have a nervous disorder that manifests physically as trembling, and appears to somewhat affect her balance and her stride.  She was accompanied by six kobolds who appeared very deferential to her and her needs, but gave no indication whatsoever of being frightened or intinidated by her.
