Dragons: Transportation

Draconia sociodae

Dragons (specifically draconia sociodae) are often used as transport animals in Ianua, most notably by The Dragon Riders and citizens of Ienora. They are fast, strong, gentle and fiercely loyal once they've bonded with a rider. They can fly for up to a day without stopping, granted that they're not carrying heavy cargo.

May need to feast on the odd flock of sheep or cattle during longer trips.

Around 15,000 gold pieces for an unhatched egg, hatched dragons usually cost less.

Rarity

Depends on the region. Quite rare in the southern parts of Ianua, quite common in the northern parts (specifically the Avoncaster Wilds)

Length

Between 20-60 feet, snout to tail, with a wingspan of between 50-150 feet.

Speed

Around 10 miles per hour.
