Race Lore Changes

"Races! This world is full of them! Each with their own society and different body structures. Fun to research and poke fun at them. But the truth is still the truth. What's the truth? These races combine to make heroes and villains. Just depends on which one decides they want to make some damn changes. Oh and quick aside: this research is written with the truth that the Age of the Eart Eater happened. Lets me sleep better knowing the world belonged to us first and not the tall invaders." Damian Merco, Historian of Hyte Eart.

Humans

"I mean, they're humans! They're small, they're tall. They're ignorant and they're smart. They are the strongest and somehow the weakest. Humans got all the fields covered and they only keep surprising. The sons of bitches them!" Damian Merco, Historian.

Halflings

"It's hilarious that the short race was the first to be here. It's even funnier to believe that at one point they were nice people. Living in a giant tree god until some vampire like monster attacked. Guess their tree god couldn't afford to let them hide in his roots anymore, cause they were kicked out and now they're a bunch of monster hunters. Or so the legend goes, since most religious folks don't really believe the Age of the Eart Eater even happened. Nonetheless, don't fuck with the short man. He is trained to kill in several different ways and the trees sure got his back, luck and such." Damian Merco, Historian

Dwarves

"Masters of stone and hammer. The beloved short and stout grumps. Beards and ale are their attire, and be damned if you catch them with an elf! The second oldest race but boy do they believe they are the first. I was born with these hardened people and they sure live up to their names. One day they'll regain their lost kingdom. And believe me, these dwarves are always good on their promises." Damian Merco, Historian

Gnomes, Fairies, Kalashtar, Saytrs, Harengon, Owlin, Centaurs and Firebolgs

"The Plane of Sunflowers, a weird land full of these fey creatures. Several fun races in this place. Gnomes, the fun inventors with their wacky structures. Fairies, the tiny mystical creatures that know their fey magic. Kalashtar, those of two worlds cursed to see the memories of their former body. Satyrs and Centaurs, charismatic hoofed humanoids that sure love their dancing. Owlins and Harengons, the wise animals blessed with wisdom and agility. Finally, the Firebolgs, druids within the giant forests that love their trees, nicer halflings if you think about it. All within their little kingdoms blessed with a Sunflower for a light source. Years of research and these fey continue to confuse me." Damian Merco, Historain.

Elves

"A yes. Elves. When them angels thought the world could use a smarter race, they sent these parasites. Human societies? High Elves. The Plane of Sunflowers? Eladrins. Forest folk? Wood Elves. The forgotten Dwarvern Kingdom? Drow. Hell, even the Unseen Plane is populated with bloody Shadar-Kai! These know-it-all shmucks show up to our world and try to rule over us. Well that didn't work out for them. They hang in their own little kingdoms with their own unique elven practices. I'll never forgive those angels for giving these pointy ear problems longer lifespans!" Damian Merco, Historian.

Dragonborn

"Once descendants of the Dragonlord, Gryterex, these scaled humanoids sure are tough ones. They try to match up to their dragon brothers all across the world gifted with breaths of fire and such. But the real center of their society is the Dragonian Ash, a mountain kingdom full of the bloody creatures. Scary fuckers. I wouldn't fuck with them." Damian Merco, Historian.

Triton, Grung, Tortle and Vedalken

"The oceans and waters of the world. They are home to some aquatic humanoids that enjoy our nice land kingdoms from time to time. Tritons are the deeper dwellers. Can breathe both air and water with the plus that they don't hate us land-lovers. I respect that we have at least some sane ocean dwellers to keep us safe from the scary creatures that attack our boats. Vedalkens are the weird ones. They definitely came from the ocean, but there aren't many of them and they have some......weird practices. Tortles, hard-shelled druids that hang around more shallow waters as friendly individuals, a nice contrast to the Grung that have more violent tendencies. Don't plan to examine further with these races. Not a big fan of water." Damain Merco, Historian.

Groove-Ifts

"The big tree god, The Grandfather Oak. Sure loves his trees. Hell, he decided to bestow his wisdom on some of them. We call these Groove-Ifts, or "Wise Tree's." They are given specific wisdom on birth and a task to spend their lives dedicated to it, mostly some way to help the environment. Big, friendly fuckers. You know, until you piss them off and the Wise Tree uses your corpse to feed the crazier plants." Daman Merco, Historian.

Goblins, Kobolds, Lizardfolk, Kenku, Aarakockra, Bugbears, and Hobgoblins

"The thin line between monsters and humanoids. Goblins and Kobolds being the trouble makers with annoying traps. The Lizardfolk, cannibals of the swamps. Kenku and Aarakockra, the birds who rule up high and swoop down for fights. Bugbears and Hobgoblins, the tough boys that step on their little cousins as 'leaders.' Some of them find themselves integrating with society, while others still cause trouble for adventurers. Either way, pain in the asses all around." Damian Merco, Historian.

Tieflings

"Bloody Infernals! The angels were bad enough, then some devils with pointy tails come in to cause even more problems. Tieflings they called themselves. Belonging to some sect of their army with their own bloody characteristics. Those bastards killed anyone they saw for the purpose to "Take over the world for the Infernal King." BAH! If I didn't meet some nice ones in my travel, I would kill them all on sight. But because they can change, I hope the good ones outlast the bad ones. They tell some funny jokes." Damian Merco, Historian.

Goliaths, Tabaxi, Minotaurs and Leonins

"The warrior clans of the mountains and jungles. You see one of these fellas, you know they kick ass. Goliaths. Some say they started from the Infernal Army, but I won't buy it. These are strong and giant mountain people. Living in the cold and high with Giants as lords. No way did they come from the hells. I believe Minotuars would make more sense, if there wasn't loads of proof they come from the inside of mountains. That's were all the mazes are and boy do those Minotaurs love mazes. Now the jungles, the Tabaxi and Leonins rule those lands. Cat people with their cat-like reflexes. Hard to run from so hope you don't piss them off." Damian Merco, Historian.

Orcs, Verdan, Wispors, Loxodon, and Yuan-Ti

"Gondit is quite the kingdom. Several rival families fight for rulership, making pacts and shit. Orcs are main players. They started the kingdom and they certainly ain't giving up anytime soon. They once were a primal race, deadly instincts since birth. They also have their cursed children, the Wispors, to give them yet another advantage. Ghost-like creatures with their heart bound to a magic chest since birth. Hard to kill mist, and they are related to the Orcs. The other clan still in power are the Loxodon. Elephant humanoids that are hard to charm and scare. They keep the Verdan, tall telepathic goblins, from stealing power in Gondit. Finally their is the Yuan-Ti, the cruel snakes with even crueler tactics. Gondit is a political nightmare. So when you see one in a tavern, make sure you don't talk politics with them. It may end in blood." Damian Merco, Historian.

Crepsects

"When that bastard Ultima rose to its floating kingdom some of its chaotic magic flooded into the surrounding lands. Some poor kingdoms got the brunt of it. Ever see an insect? Ever wonder what it would look like as you size? Well, that's the Crepsects. Poor mutated humans that turned into insect people. Mostly they live in hiding, hostile to any person. But recently they've returned to their human roots. Now you'll see one traveling across the road with friendlier intentions. Hope society lets these poor souls into their kingdoms. There is nice people in every race. You know, except elves." Damian Merco, Historian.

Warforged and The Trapped

"Men within machine. Created as slaves and now finding sentience in the new world. Some may not have memories of their past lives, but they sure as hell can build a new one. Difference between Warforged and The Trapped? Flesh really. Warforged are created with actual human bodily functions. You know, organs and stomachs. The Trapped are souls taken from somewhere then placed in a magic suit of armor. They make great guards and soldiers. Hell, some more fucked up kingdoms don't pay them. But machines built to kill don't usually require pay. I'm glad that these fellas are finding more purpose in life than that of violence." Damian Merco, Historian.

Genasi, Changlings, and Shifters

"Ah, the wandering races. Not belonging to a society, just existing. We'll start with the Genasi. Those that sought to be one with their elements. You'll find water genasi near lakes, fire genasi with volcanos, etc etc. But if you've ever been in an earthquake or flood, you know they aren't ones to fight with. But secluded doesn't mean hostile. Take the Changlings for example. Bones and skin that can shift facial structure, being able to be any person they desire. Not many people understand them, but most aren't hostile. Just lonely. But shifters. Those are wild cards. Being able to transform into animal hybrids with large teeth and brutal claws. You ever meet one, better hope they are civilized. Otherwise you'll be in deep shit." Damian Merco, Historian.

Aasimar

"The fucking angels. As the last attempt to put their religious rulership over the world, they brought a race in their image, their birth accidently entering us into the Age of Defiance. Aasimar they call themselves. Self righteous bastards that believe they should be the rulers of our world. All because they are the angels favorites. Those winged freaks can shove their "good intentions" back where it came from. But now they are on equal footing now that Ultima balanced the power in the world. Now most are accepted, with some scowls and what not. Angels are pricks, but Aasimar are the decent sons that can walk away from the sins of their fathers." Damian Merco, Historian.
