Session 21: Back-Alley Dealings
General Summary
THe session started off with the Water Merchants going to see Hector Rofwaldan to ask him his thouths on the representatives of the Gerudo Kingdom had not arrived in Hyrule Castletown for the Council of Unity meeting. Hector was puzzled at the Gerudo's no-show. After spending some time discussing what it could all mean, a messenger arrived to inform Hector that Gerudo General, Nubia Ansari, arrived just arrived. General Nubia indicated the rest of the Gerudo representatives were still in the Gerudo captial, Riju. She also indicated she wished to speak to some of the Hyrule authority figures.
The Water Merchants let Hector know they are there to help if needed and headed back into the city. In the city, there was a hubub about the nature of the Gerudo arriving - just one person of important and some bodyguards, all on horses. The group then went shopping, stocking up on supplies. Later that afternoon, the group was approached by a mail courier who delivered a message from Hector Rofwaldan. The message requiested the group to attend a meeting at the barracks of the Royal Guard of Hyrule in the military ward.
The Water Merchants made their way there, and were escorted into the barracks and into a meeting room. In the room was Hector Rofwalday, Sgt. Ian Collins, Captain Bernard Krin of the Royal Guard, and General Nubia Ansari. Captain Ramsey has indicated that General Nubia had safety concerns regarding the Gerudo representatives and had General Nubia speak her case. General Nubia spoke of the recent assassination attemps on the newly coronated King Tyroth Attar. She indicated that due to this, the Gerudo governing members inquired about a protective escort group separate from the Hyrule government, and the Water Merchants were suggested as a potential group, due to their recent heroic deeds. General Nubia asked the Water Merchants if they would accompany her back to the Gerudo Kingdome to discuss this with the Gerudo authority. Captain Krin disagreed with General Nubia, feeling that civilians should not be performing this duty and warned the group that he expects them to be on their best behavior. The group agreed to join General Nubia to the Gerudo Kingdom.
Later that evening, when the group returned to the Tilt n' Stagger Inn, they found a note slid under the door that read:
"We should meet. The fate of the kingdom depends on stopping evil before it gains a foothold. Meet me this night behind Rusty's Antiques when the moon peaks."It was signed with a symbol that looked like an open hand with the Triforce symbol on it. The group decided that Feng and Tanager would meet the note author, with Sunny also going but hanging back to keep an eye on things. Later that night, when the moon peaked, the three left the inn and headed to the designeated meeting spot behind the antique shop. When they got there, a figure emereged from one of the neighboring alleys. He was dressed in dark clothes, a hood, and wore a featureless mask with the Triforce symbol etched into it over his face. He figure apologiezed for his anonymity, indicating it was for his protection. The figure inquired about the group's recent request to meet and escort the Gerudo king. He rhetorically asked why the Gerudo kept King Tyroth a secret all these years. The figure indicated that it is his belief that the Gerudo know that King Tyroth will become the vessel of Ganon and bring about ruin to the land. After some discussion, the figure told Tanager and Feng that while he and his people would not expect the Water Merchants to commit an assiassination, he would ask that if others make an attempt, to not stop them. The figure indicated that the time to strike is now and knows the group will make the right choice when the time comes. He then caused a small cloud of fog and disappeared. The group spent the rest of the night discussing their options.
