Session 20: Portrait of a Lady Undead

General Summary

The session started with The Water Merchants on one side of a locked door with a pair of poes, and Sunny on the other side in a large master office, with a Poe Sister. The Water Merchants began taking care of the 2 poes while trying to break down the door, while on the other side Sunny took a shot at the Poe Sister. Through lightning flashes, Sunny noticed several paintings on the walls. Upon shooting the Poe Sister, it retreated into a paitning, and then several Poe Sisters emerged from all the paintings on the walls, who converged onto Sunny.
The rest of the group managed to break through the door, and engaged with all the Poe Sisters. As they attacked each Poe Sister, they found upon attacking, the Poe Sisters would vanish one by one, until a specific one was attacked - then all remaining Poe Sisters retreated into the paintings. Then, new Poe Sisters re-emerged from all the paintings. Then, some of the furniture in the room began animating and attacking the group.
The group continued fighting the all the Poe Sisters, furniture, and also began destroying the paintings. They noticed as they destroyed paintings, the corresponding Poe Sister would then vanish. Tanager destroyed two paintings and a bookshelf with a bomb flower. Bear-Thistle was telekinetically thrown against the wall, reverting him to Korok-Thistle. The Poe Sister then engulfed the room in magical darkness. Using a flaming sphere, Thistle was able to destroy the last painting, dropping the darkness and causing a new painting to appear that matched the description that Giovanni Skulluta gave of the of the painting he purchased - a silhouette of a distant castle along a dark, tree-lined path at night. The Poe Sister then caused a haunting effect that effected the minds of some of the group members, downing Feng. Thistle was then tossed across the room again as Tanager was able to heal him before Feng got smashed by the animated table. Sunny began attacking the new painting, but found that when he attacked it, it emitted s blast of dark magic which he narrowly dodged. The Poe Sister then turned invisible, but continued attacking the group while hidden. Thistle then attacked the painting, causing another blast of dark magic, which Sunny again narrowly dodged, but Thistle didn't. Kassu then attacked the painting, which again blasted dark magic out, hitting Thistle, Kassu, and downing Sunny, who was unable to dodge it a third time. Ora was able to administer a heart potion to Sunny, reviving him.
With Sunny's newfound vitality, he was able to retreat away from the painting and fire an arrow at it, which was enough to destroy it in a fiery wake, causing the Poe Sister to also evaporate in a magical energy wake. Upon this happening, the storm stopped, the clouds dissipated, the webbing disappeared from the windows, and the corpses of any monsters vanished. The party then left to tell Giovanni of their success. Giovanni was very happy to hear of the Water Merchants success. He called meeting and told the crowd the attended of what happened - mostly from his perspective. Afterwards, Giovanni spoke with the group, he calculated the at the damages done to his property (destroyed vase, mannequin, dresses, bearskin rug, and all his paintings) meant that he and the group were square. Tanager coaxed him into a 1 rupee reward, hinted at a future favor, and tried to get Giovanni to agree to a future get-together, which Giovanni agreed to patronizingly. After Giovanni left the, the group ran into @Hamilton Northwood. He asked them if all that was told by Giovanni to the crowd was actually true. The relayed everything that happened to them inside the mansion to Hamilton.
The group then stayed the night in Kakariko City and set off back to Hyrule Castletown the next day.  When they arrived, Tanager was found by a member of the Hyrule Thespians Guild and foced him to attend rehearsals for the entire day as the play was scheduled for the next day.
The next day, Tanager was again whisked away early for rehearsal.  The morning and a afternoons went by uneventful.  The rest of the Water Merchants arrived early to get good seats.  As the time of the play starting got neared, the Theater began to fill up.  Soon the members of the Council of Unity began to arrive, sitting in their private booths.
The play saw Tanager have his scene in Act II, which he seemed to play his part well.  After the play ended, the group joined the after part at the Tilt n' Stagger Inn.  When the group arrived, they saw Hamilton Northwood performing a song, retelling the Water Merchants heroic acts in the Skulluta Mansion.
Talking among the crowd there, one of the prevailing topics was the the representatives of the Gerudo Kingdom has not arrived as scheduled.  The Water Merchants decided they would talk to Council of Unity memeber, Hector Rofwaldan, in the morning to see if he's heard anything about it.

What todes that even mean? At lleast with "Carriage Driver Ted," you knw who it's about.<br> Tanager: That's right!<br> Sunny: Cause you're the star, right?<br> Tanager: Um...I-I don't know.
