Session 14: Goron City of Darbus

General Summary

THe session started in the main Goron city of Darbus. The Water Merchants decided first to head to Machipango Ashclound's house, who is a longtime friend of Sunny's.   The group are welcomed into Machipango's house, and after some friendly banter, Sunny inquired about the Knights of the Darunic Order. Machipango explained the group sort of a doomsday cult led by the goron Covak. Machipango dismissed the Knights as "wackos," and seemed to consider them more of an annoyance.   The group then headed to the Temple of the Darunic Order. On the way there, they ran into the same Darunic Order crier they encountered when they first entered Darbus, Golin . The spent time, talking to and asking question Golin. They learned that Knights of the Darunic Order believe that the day is nigh that the Sage of Fire, Darunia, will return to the world to fight and smite a great, evil, beast of fire with a sacred weapon . The crier invites the group to the Temple of the Darunic Order to listen to Covak speak.   The group heads to the Temple of the Darunic Order. They are welcomed in by some of the members. The Water Merchants made some small talk until the mass started. Covak emerged and gave a sermon from the alter. In the sermon, Covak indicated that long ago, the Sage of Fire, Darunia, destroyed an evil serpent of fire. A prophecy states the evil serpent will return and desroy the world with fire, killing all but that members of the Knights of the Darunic Order. The prophecy also states that one of the surviving Knights of the Darunic Order will become a vessel of Darunia, will will be reborn into the body of that goron. The reincarnated Darunia will battle the evil beast of fire, defeat it with the Megaton Hammer, and lead the Knights to reestablish the world and usher in a new era of peace. After the sermon, the group talked to Covak about the prophecy.   The Water Merchants left the temple and headed to the library. On the way, they speculated about all they were told, hypothesizing that the "fire beast" may be the volcano itself erupting, and all expressing they felt Covak wasn't being outright deceptive. At the library, they leared about Darunia, and that eons ago he had assissted the Hero of Time, Link, in defeating a fire dragon, Volvagia. The group also learned about Death Mountain, how it is now known as "Mount Darunia," and about the magma pockets throughout the mountain, and how the gorons utilize the magma veins.   The group then went to the Church of the Fire Gods and talked to the priest there, Ralo, about Covak and the Knights of the Darunic Order.  Ralo didn't know too much about Covak's history.  He and the Water Merchants opined about Covak's intentions, but ultimately came to no solid conclusion.    The group then headed to the "Grease Pit," a section of Darbus that is heavily industrialized with lots of machinery and gorons working.  They talked to one of the head workers there, inquiring if there was anything out of the ordinary in their work.  The head goron worker indicated nothing strange except a few days ago some of their drill bits got stuck drilling down into the main magma pocket.  Otherwise, the head worker felt there was nothign amiss.   The group spent the night in Darbus.  Sunny went back to Machipango's, and expressed his concern about Covak's prophecy and the volcano, and asked Machipango to spend some time at his place in Lon Lon City, which Machipango agreed to.  Meanwhile, Tanager performed at the local inn.   1:48   Talked to a goron geologist - who felt the mountain was safe Did some drinking with gorons in the tub Next morning, met with the goron patriach, Daruladan
