Session 02: Welcome to Hyrule Castletown
General Summary
The session started with the group having just killed their Bokoblin captors. Sunny, Tanager, and Thistle revived the Feng and Ora, who were knocked unconscious in the last fight with the bokoblins. As they made their way to cave exit, they found their belongings in a nearby alcove, along with a collection of rupees, a scroll, various potions, Bomb Flowers, and Deku Nuts.
The group leaves the cave, which is at the base of a small hill. They recognize they are somewhere in the eastern part of the Central Hyrule Grassland, which they deduce by the prominent Death Mountain Area mountain range off in the distance to the north. They also notice several cart tracks the lead to and from the mouth of the cave, all of which spread out in various directions across the fields in front of them. The group, not wanting to hang around, set off on a path away from any cart tracks in a southwesterly direction. After a few hours of travel, the group settled down and rested for the rest of the day. During the evening, Preston conversed with the group, causing them some mild annoyance.
At sunrise, the group broke camp and continued on their way. After a few more hours of travel, Hyrule Castletown came into view. They continued and entered the city. Preston lead them through the city to the military ward and into a barracks, where he meets his uncle, Sergeant Ian Collins. Preston relayed his version of the story of the bokoblin cave to Sgt. Collins. Sgt. Collins, unbelieving, pointed out Preston's habit of exaggerating the truth and also mistaking mundane happenings for monsters. The party told a more grounded version of the events, but did confirm the bokoblin abductions. Preston suggested making the group members of the Royal Guard of Hyrule due to the Royal Guard being low on available soldiers. There was mutual disagreement on the idea between the group and Sgt. Collins, but he suggested that if they are interested in helping, they can offer assistance at the Temple of Time to help prepare for its Centennial Celebration.
The group agreed to assist and made their way through the city, arriving at the Commons of Time, and then entered the Temple of Time. They talked with clergy member Gilbert Stapleton, who welcomed their volunteering. They did several chores to help, and also assisted in unique ways. Sunny located a missing banner. Thistle addressed some misbehaving chickens that were in the vicinity and corralled them into their pens. Tanager inspired some some locals into offering their assistance by regaling them with a story of a famous mason who helped build the Temple of Time. Feng used his nimbleness to hang up, put up, and tie up various decorations and items in high areas that were difficult to get to. Ora silently decorated and organized around multiple visitors, who were deep in prayer, without disturbing them.
After finishing, Gilbert thanked them for their help. He then requested one last favor. High priest, Isadore Harris, has lost his voice. Gilbert asked if the group could visit the local potion shop to see if they carried anything that could remedy Isadore's unfortunate circumstance. The group agreed and made their way to the potion shop, Trouble-A-Brewin'. They discussed Gilbert's request with one of the shop keeps, Taffy.
After talking it over with unseen shop keep in the back, "Auntie" Caramel, she informed the group that they do not have the potion needed, as they do not have the necessary components to create the potion. Taffy relayed that the components are difficult to get, and that they usually outsource the procurement of the components to the group MFH 99, who haven't been back to the shop since the last time some components were needed some time ago. Tanager inquired about what components are needed, which Taffy relayed are: poison sacs from Skulltulas, Poe souls, and a specific herb found in a deku settlement . The group asked about identifying the potions they found in the bokoblin cave, which Taffy identified as elixir of might, budget scroll armor of Nayru, elixir of toughness, and liquid courage. Taffy then informed the group that all those potions are also sold at the shop there. The group inquired about prices, and Taffy told them that if they are able to bring back the needed components for the potion for Isadore, she will give them a significant discount on anything sold in the shop.
The group leaves the shop and heads to a lodge they passed by on their way in, which is occupied by the mercenary guild MFH 99. Tanager tried talking with one of the members in hopes of getting information on where to find some of the components, but the MFH 99 member did not divulge any, and suspected the group was trying to steal work from the guild. After a tense exchange, the group was ready to leave, when Feng paid the 10 rupee entry fee to join the guild. He entered the guild and continued the conversation with MFH member. MFH 99 wanted the discounts offered to the group extended to all MFH 99 members. Feng went back to Trouble-a-Brewin' to find out if the dicount was extendable to MFH 99, which Taffy said it was not, as offering that large of a discount to that many people would put Trouble-a-Brewin' out of business.
Sunny and Thistle headed back to the barracks. They talked to Sgt. Collins to inquire about the lost cemetery, deku settlement, and MFH 99. After they finished talking, all members met up and relayed what each found out. They then headed to the Tilt n' Stagger Inn, an inn they passed when entereing the city. Tanager bartered room and board for the group in exchange for him performing twice a day. The group rested the night there, ending the session.

Memorable Quotes
Preston: So what did you guys do before this?Ora: Not babysit.
Preston: ...I don't know how to take that.
Preston: What about you?
Thistle: I'm a wanderer. That's all you need to know.
Preston: That sounds fun.
Thistle. Yeah it is. It's fun. (beat) Do you want a deku nut?
Preston: To keep?
Thistle: No, you eat them.
Preston: You don't eat deku nuts! How long have you been wandering that you eat deku nuts?
Thistle: I can.
Preston: Eat one now!
Thistle: I'm not hungry now.
Preston: Eat it anyway!
Thistle: Well, do you eat when you're not hungry.
Preston: Sometimes.
Thistle: Well, that explains a lot.
Preston: Can you tell my uncle that when we get back to Castletown?
Tanager: Yes I will. I will tell him about how you saved us, and it will be great! He'll put you right into the Royal Guard or whatever and you can be just the most famous hero in all of Hyrule!
Preston: I like this guy. Do you promise you'll do that?
Tanager: I'm gonna do it.
Preston: But do you promise?
Tanager: I promise.
Preston: All right! He's gonna be so proud of me!
Tanager: You're gonna have fun in the army.
Preston: I don't know...I'm just asking a question. You don't have to be mean about it. Geeze...
Ora: I think you need to work on--sometimes not saying as much is more than saying all this stuff.
Preston: That doesn't make sense. That logically doesn't make at all sense.
Feng: You have a lot to learn...
Thistle: Less is more.
Preston: How can less be more? That's a paradox.
Ora: Alright here's one for you: silence is often misunderstood, but is never misquoted.
(beat)
Preston: What if somebody's name is "Silence?"
Ora: Oh boy...
Sunny: They did want to eat him.
Tanager: Well, yes they did. Thankfully that didn't happen!
Sunny: I assume they may have wanted to eat all of us at one point, but don't know that for a fact.
Thistle: They wanted to turn me into a chair.
MFH 99 Member: Got money? It costs money to be in MFH.
Ora: No...
Tanager: I uh...
Sunny: What's the price?
Tanager: Is it like a rupee?
MFH 99 Member: It's more then a rupee.
Tanager: Two rupees?
MFH 99 Member: It's 10 rupees a month per member!
Tanager: A subscription fee??
MFH 99 Member: How do I explain this? Let's say--
Tanager: Is there a uniform?
Ora: Is there a health plan?
MFH 99 Member: Yes. If you join our guild, I don't stab you!
Feng: Seems like I have a job on my plate right now.
MFH 99 Member: Mmm Ok. What's it pay?
(beat)
Feng: .....Seems like I have a job on my plate right now.
MFH 99 Member: Yes, but what is your reward for completing this task
Feng: It was a verbal agreement for the Temple of Time for Isadore Harris to help him.
MFH 99 Member: And what are you getting in return? I'm not sure you are understanding. We don't do charity work here! When you do something, you get something!
Feng: We get a discount on our next purchase.
