Unbroke

With its huge walls, dense and diverse population and defended by sea and stone, Unbroke is not only the third largest city in the Dominion but perhaps the most well fortified in all of the Isles. With insulation of multiple walls by both land and sea, the city is right at the southern edge of Phurzia’s lands, having been a common target of both Vunkish raiders from the south, Hartstone attacks from the west and Jazyart attacks from the east over the centuries. As a result of this and their control of the south’s stone resources, they have become a shelled city by necessity, and was one of the first cities the Dominion established once it expanded out of its original designated lands. With harsh storms battering the coasts, it was also necessary to protect the people from mother nature as well, a position it fulfills to that end.

Government

Run by the magisterium known as the Rock, they control the main aspects of the city and answer directly to the Decarchs in Phoz. The Rock manage the day to day political life of the city, while leaving the commanders on the walls to handle domestic security, as external threats are rare in times of plenty.

Defences

Possessing the mightiest walls in the Isles, Unbroke earns its name without trying. Massive black-painted walls, more than forty metres tall surround the city by land, constantly manned by the Unbroken, the signature guards of the city, famous for the gold and red uniforms, in contrast to the black and green of the Dominion’s national army.

Infrastructure

Located by the sea, Unbroke has large docks and ports, far larger than those of the river based capital, transporting goods from around the known world. During times of storm, they are locked in by the wooden gates, and are also closed in times of besieging. As with the capital, a large sewer system is in place ensuring good healthcare, particularly for the city’s upper class. With a flourishing merchant class, the city has a more meritocratic tradition than the other Phurzic cities, resembling the cities of Illustrio more than the rest of Phurzia.
