Black Bow trading company

The Black Bow Trading company was formed in by Jorman Axecrest operating from The Crown City with various management hubs in Undertow, Port Fallow, Cape Prism, and Birchill.   Their Primary cargo includes menervin alcohol such as the local beer, mead, and brandy. Wool, maple syrup, and a special product called "Axe and Fleet's Menervin pest cakes". The bulk of their trade runs south to Riba returning with gold and exotic cargo from all over the continent favoring spices, wines, silks, and rice. Their other main trade rout is across the ocean to the far continent where they trade for even stranger materials.     The year was marked in the northeastern Menirvin coast by a plague of wood pests such as termites, carpenter ants, and oaken silverfish. This hurt the humid shipyards particularly hardy bugs being unfazed by herb smoke and other methods. Such was the upheaval several trading companies backed completely out of their ships in the area for fear of spreading the pests.

This left a considerable amount of captains in the possession of their ships due to a particular disaster severance clause common in merchant contracts. Jorman was a second son of a noble family with moderate importance and with no chances of taking the head of the family he took his inheritance to try and make his fortune.
He arrived to Port Fallow where he had purchased by letter some layoff ships, where he discovered that the ships were completely infested. Disgusted he instructed them to smear the ships with light pitch to smother the pests to death. Unfortunately the sugared floral scent of local stripmaple trees attracted more bugs and did not wash away. At their last wits they burnt the outside of the ships to try something else which produced such an acrid smoke the insects died or fled. When the outer char was scraped off the wood was permanently stained black.
