Pendeghast Riverton

A human scholar who lives in Thywicket. He is an apprentice, now verging on associate to, Folgorath. Studying Divination magic under Master Folgorath, Pendeghast is learning the ways that the old firbolg was combining his traditional primal druidic sources of magic with the arcane studies of scholars from the previous age. Pendeghast specializes in translating dead and lost languages, as well as augury. He has never worked up the stomach to study haruspicy under his teacher.
Pendeghast is an inveterate coward, but he hopes to become confident enough in his studies to bring about changes for a better world. He tends to make frequent use of Augury to avoid even minor dangers and confrontations if he can.

During the Campaign

Since the city started to undergo its change, he took to hiding in a secret sub-basement under the house of an older recluse in the poor district. While his fellow apprentices decided to investigate the mindflayer colony, he consulted his runes and read the danger. Electing not to follow his friends, Pendeghast found a hole to hide in where he could watch the city unseen. He feared returning to his study due to the cranium rats stalking the city.
When the party arrived in Thywicket, he took them into his crawlspace as they were running from a patrol of cranium rats.
