Burrhenge
A city with farming space built on the back of an ancient megaturtle named Ol' Cockleburr. Cockleburr died and was taken by the grass.
Ol' Cockleburr used to live in a huge river and lake system. No one remembers why he left the water, if they ever knew in the first place. The thick layers of mud and algae that had settled on his huge, flat shell stuck to the turtle and provided the basis for a nutrient-dense farming plot. Because Cockleburr was steady and slow, buildings were able to be built taller and more spread out around the shell. The residents were careful not to crowd out their precious farming space, using the sides and roofs of their buildings as extra garden plots.
The abundance of food on Burrhenge allowed its residents to afford themselves some space for non-essential goods. Notably, this city allowed itself some space for a library. The wizard Folgorath lived here, and had a secret lab underneath the shell of the turtle.
Burrhenge was killed by the Chapel of Light, as it searched for the secret documents that Folgorath had received. The city is now skeletonized by the plants.
