Jesp
Jesp is a Mapach Rogue played by Mackenzie Meeks
Backstory
Jesp is the older brother of Jesp and the first born son to Verick and Bize. Spending his youth in the Trunk district of Alderheart, Jesp had a realitively happy childhood. From a young age, Jesp has always had a fascination with tinkering in a manner that is considered obsessive even for a mapach. While in school, Jesp spent the majority of his time taking apart machines and putting them back together in new and inventive ways. He dreamed of one day becomming a sufficient enough tinkerer to take over his parents shop one day. Jesp would not be considered a hermit, however, he was much less interested in forming interpersonal connections than his younger brother Roach. Even with his social struggles, Jesp always felt seen and appreciated by his family. Shortly after Roach graduated from school and the brothers were about to begin taking over their parent's shop, Jesp disappeared. Unbeknown to Jesp, his abilities to tinker were held in very high regard amongst the members of the Bandit Coallition. Leaders of the Coallition recgonized the need for a creative solution to many of their ongoing struggles. In searching their ranks the Coallition was unable to find anyone with the skills needed to complete their many tasks, so they began searching amongst the civillian population. Upon hearing a tip of a great up and coming tinkerer a stakeout was conducted to evaluate the skills of Jesp. This indicated that he could likely fufil the empty position, also revealed was that Jesp's singluar desire to tinker his machines, a problem the Coallition would be able to solve. One night after the graduation, Jesp went for a walk to clear his head and sort out some of his most recent skematics. While on the walk he was magically paralyzed and abducted into the night. When he regained his senses, Jesp realized that he was no longer in his home city of Alderheart. He had been transported to the headquarters of the Bandit Coallition. Immediatly he was introduced to Fray Merridan, the Vulpin Captain overseeing the newest division of the Coallition. She shared her goal of bringing down the Birdfolk Council and redistibuting the wealth to all citizens of the Wood. Initially amenable to the cause, Jesp soon realized the lengths some members of the Coallition were willing to go to in order to achive their goals. Jesp became unwilling to assist the Bandits in the creation of devices that would hurt innocent folk. In response to the unwillingess of Jesp, Fray threatened the lives of his family and promised their safety in exchange for Jesps continued progress creating new devices for the Coallition. Over the next 5 songs, Jesp created a variety of gadgets for the Coalltion that greatly improved their ability to take wealth and redistribute it. Often times at the expense of the lives of the Perch Guard defending the trade caravans. Secretly, Jesp worked on an escape plan. One day when he saw an oppurtune moment. Jesp made a break for it and left the Coallition. On his way out he stole his newest creation directly from Fray's pack. He then began a multi-day chase through the Wood in an attempt to escape. When Jesp reached the village of Meadowfen, he remarkably ran into his brother Roach. Tired from the many days of running, Jesp couldn't fight Roach's insistence to rest for a few days. After reconnecting with his brother, Jesp was distant not wanting to disclose his involvement with the Coallition.
