O'Connor Station

First of the Menschen Stapel, O'Connor station was named for the scientist Travis O'Connor, who developed a wide range of controversial technologies, including Self Replicating Robots and R.U.N.G.S. After his death, Citadel V was renamed O'Connor station in his honor. Citadel V first distinguished itself from the rest of the 12 Citadel Initiative stations during the War of Stars, when Citadel V accepted nearly 170 million refugees from the Jovian system and outer planets. The citadel was forced to close its gates to refugees when the stations population became 1.25 times its official living space.
The station's power only grew after the War of Stars, when Travis O'Connor chose to live out his years on board. Travis would spend his final years perfecting the design for R.U.N.G.S, and drafting his 'speech to end an age'. Before his death, Travis uploaded this speech to Citadel V's main computer, and set an automatic timer to play the speech across the Solar System after the Human population crested 1 trillion. Because of the speed of light's restrictions, the inhabitants of Citadel V heard this message before the rest of the Solar System, it would be 19 minutes before the transmission even reached Earth.
