Self Replicating Robots

Originally the brainchild of Travis O'Connor, Self Replicating robots Hermian are referred to by the classifications SR MK-X, or Self Replicator Mark 2. There were 12 of these versions when The War of Stars began, and Travis O'Connor personally designed the 1st through 4rth, and 10th through 12th versions. The SR 1s were large, bulky machines specialized as miners on the surface of Mercury. These cumbersome machines reproduced an average of 1.1 times before they broke down after a 6 month lifespan. Most mark 1s were regularly serviced, making them not truly replicators, but allowing them to increase their number quickly. Mark 2s had 2 the lifespan of the Mark 1s, allowing them to produce an average of 2 copies of themselves before they were decommissioned. The Mark 2 version also introduced specialization to the Robot system, with robots programmed to make autonomous production lines to reproduce faster. The Mark 3 Robots introduced 'mating' to the Robot's mechanisms, with 'female' analogues possessing specialized 3d printers to speed up production, and 'male' analogues optimized for the collection and smelting of ores. Replication for the Mark 3s and onwards involved 2 or more robots convening to share materials and compare their coding before producing as many 'young' machines as possible. The mark 4s were improved version of the threes, with a larger storage capacity for energy and ores. These models were also equipped with space propulsion, and could fly themselves into Mercury's orbit.
Models after the fourth were designed and built either en-route to Sirius, or at the Star. The later models were fully developed spacecraft, with fusion drives capable of accelerating them to and from 10% the speed of light. These spaceships still had limited autonomy, and would automatically replicate and move from asteroid to asteroid when left to their own vices. This made neglected drones extremely dangerous to unprepared civilian spacecraft.
The Mark 12 robots were designed by Travis O'Connor, who was kidnapped from an ICG habitat before the War of Stars. These models were made and coordinated by the Queen's B.A.B.E. motherships, and without this control they currently roam the Solar System, harvesting asteroids and attacking random ships.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Self-Replicators used metal 3d printers to use the metals they harvested from asteroids or Mercury's surface. These would be used to make the individual components for another robot, and then assemble them in the safety of open space.

Rarity
There are an estimated 20 thousand Self-Replicators in the Solar System, remnants of the War of Stars that prey on civilian crafts and harvest lonely asteroids. An unknown number lie beyond the borders of the Solar System, released by the Queen in interstellar space.
Weight
Between 15 and 75 kilotons, the heaviest model being the number 11, the first with a fusion drive.
Dimensions
Between 30 and 150 meters long, and up to 25 meters wide.
Base Price
Between 18,000 and 100,000 Labores for an original machine, as little as 3-6 thereafter.
