Personal history
Adira was born to a family of essene harvesters on the planet Gamble. She grew up in a nomadic harvesting caravan learning basic equipment maintenance and survival skills. Immediately after birth, she was betrothed to a neighboring nomadic family's son. When the Interstellar Civil War came to Gamble, Adira and her father were stranded in the wilderness and almost succumbed to the freezing temperatures of the planet's long night. She hijacked a reconnaissance airship and used it to evacuate her people to the north pole. During the reconstruction of her planet's harvesting capacity, Adira decided to leave her home planet behind and travel to Freehaven to join the Federal Starfleet. While waiting for word on her application to the Interstellar Naval Academy, she became a custodian at Fortune's Temple. After rioters destroyed the temple, she enlisted in the Federal Navy, having received word that her application was rejected. Assigned to an exploratory cruiser on her first voyage, she saved the ship from destruction by jury rigging a bomb to defeat an Alliance commerce raider. During her second patrol, she received word that her application to the INA had been reconsidered and accepted due to her bravery.
