Southeast Region: Baghajaray
The Empire of Baghajaray claims dominion over all but the north and west coasts of the continent of Baghadeesh. However, it has been a long time since and emperor received tribute or even heard from many of the interior jungle kingdoms, and it is not known whether they have rebelled or fallen. From the east coast to the edge of the jungle, seven palaces tower over six great cities surrounded by farmland and one grand estate belonging to the Empress herself. Although it boasts great wealth and power, much of the populous Empire’s land has been farmed to its limit and there is pressure to start chopping down more of the jungle. The Empress has resisted this pressure on both spiritual and political advice: her clerics have warned her that the jungle is already angry and that’s why it has cut off contact from the interior kingdoms, and her diplomats have warned her that her Vanara, Svartalf, and Tabaxi subjects are all likely to revolt if there is further westward encroachment. Instead, the Empress is looking eastward and has commissioned a fishing fleet to help meet food demands, in addition to expanding the navy to secure trade routes.
