Northeast Region: Serene Kingdom of the Elephant

There are no cities in the Serene Kingdom of the Elephant, only villages and monasteries. The kingdom is landlocked, bordering the Ratlands to the south, the hostile Kingdom of the Snake to the east, the kindred Minervans to the west, and impassable jungle and mountains to the north along the border with the Dragon empire. The king commands national defense and protects trade routes, but villagers are generally expected to rely on the nearest temple for guidance, justice, or aid. The Elephant kingdom has more monasteries per acre than anywhere else in the world.
