Hub Region: Tricorn Island
Tricorn Island sits near the juncture of the Hubbish, North-Eastern, and South-Eastern regions and is home to three closely related Babalene societies with diverse internal factions.
The Kingdom of Sal is actually a collection of “Moan” tribes that used to war constantly before being united by the charismatic cleric, Moe, centuries ago. The current king, Sal VII, struggles to keep the various tribes at peace in his densely populated, over-farmed realm. Not only is resource scarcity creating tension, but pre-Moan religious practices are coming back into vogue, amplifying the differences between tribes.
At the opposite end of the island is the city-state of Allemditta. The society is successful and affluent but also divided. There are only two major factions, the Ruhites and the Satanites, but their hatred is mutual and absolute. Because the current regime is Ruhite, so is the official religion and any unsanctioned cult must operate underground while denying their beliefs in public. This creates the appearance of a unified culture, but in fact the two sides are nearly equal in the number of faithful adherents they can claim. The hostility between camps is quite open outside the city itself, with Ruhite and Satanite freefolk carrying their feud well into the Jessian Wilds, where they might form temporary alliances with the Jessiferian factions therein.
In between the Kingdom of Sal and the reach of Allemditta, the terrain is rocky and barren, although a knob of forested land pushes out northward. This region is named The Jessian Wilds after the larger group of cultists who roam there, waging an endless war against their Luciferian antagonists. As with the factions of Allemditta, the two groups share a common culture and cosmology, but worship opposed gods. The Jessiferians subsist mostly on fish and sheep, having no good land to work. Lots of Jessians take on adventuring to spread the holy word or fight the forces of evil, while Luciferian adventurers are generally motivated by pleasure and profit.
